A longtime resident and seasoned professional in global live event production, Tom Bogdansky has announced that he is running for reelection on the Ramapo-Indian Hills Board of Education. With over three decades of experience in leadership roles in a high-pressure industry, Tom applies his skills in collaboration, planning, and accountability to support the success of Wyckoff’s students, educators, and schools.
Born and raised in Wallington, NJ, he is the youngest of three siblings in a family that emphasized service and civic involvement. His father, a pipe fitter, and his mother, a devoted homemaker, were active members of their town—instilling in him a lifelong commitment to community values.
A graduate of William Paterson University with a BA in Communications and a minor in Business, Tom has spent his entire career in the entertainment and event production industry. His professional journey includes 11 years at the Meadowlands Arena, 7 years as Operations Manager at the Javits Convention Center in New York, and over 32 years at Freeman, where he currently serves as Sr. Client Relationship Director. In this role, he leads large-scale event planning and production across the globe, managing union coordination, budgets, Contract negotiations, and logistical execution.
Tom and his wife, Mae Yazdi Bogdansky—a 44-year Wyckoff resident—have proudly made Wyckoff their home. They have raised three children in Wyckoff: Ariana, a Doctor of Anesthesia; Matean, a data analyst based in Chicago; and Leila Rose, a rising freshman at Ramapo High School. Bogdansky states, “We’ve been blessed to raise our children here, and I’ve seen firsthand how critical strong education and community leadership are to our future. I believe it’s essential that we, as parents and residents, stay engaged and hold our institutions accountable for delivering the high standards our families deserve.”
As a sitting Board of Education member, Tom has gained a comprehensive understanding of school governance, curriculum development, and the complex balance of supporting both student growth and operational efficiency. He works with all fellow board members, school leadership, and the community to champion initiatives that directly benefit students while respecting the needs of teachers and the realities of school operations. He has advocated for academic excellence, classroom resources, professional development, special needs programs, and mental health support—while also backing fiscally responsible budgets and long-term strategic planning.
Known for his ability to thrive under pressure and lead with integrity, Tom is committed to foster meaningful connections, efficient planning, and effective decision-making. He believes that listening, collaboration, and transparency are essential in building a stronger, more unified school district..
